Free sheet music and music lessons for street musicians

Gina

Texas. Texas, Texas, Tex-ass... (meaningless rambled meanderings)

I am currently visiting my mom in Dallas. First time I have been here in four years. Now I remember why I didn't want to go back and avoided contact with my mom for so long.

I'm remembering what it's like to be a housie and remembering how lazy and inactive it had made me when I went from the streets to my own apartment in Olympia. It's rather uncomfortable, in my own opinion. I never did like this stagnant feeling.

But fiddling has progressed. Sorta. I still suck and probably will suck for a long time. My mother and I were watching an episode of Friends last night, where Ross was trying to learn to play bagpipes. Bagpipes... Now there's an instrument I would have killed to learn to play when I was in elementary and getting tired of my trumpet.. Anyways, Ross sucked hardcore and my mother said something along the lines of "That sounds like you on the fiddle, Gina."

Needless to say, I took what little pride I had left and just sat there quietly.

I don't know if I want to go back to NOLA in February like I had said before. I think I'm just going to keep heading west.

I spent the remainder of my foodstamps on cheesecake. Typical of me. I have eaten so much cheesecake in the last couple of days that it may no longer be my favorite food if I keep this binging up.

I gained nearly 20 pounds in NOLA. People are asking me if I'm pregnant. "No, I'm just fat, thank you."

I found a good website for Irish fiddling sheet music. www.oldmusicproject.com/allans.html
As soon as I get a printer hooked up here, I'll be printing away.

I think I'll go to Austin next.
