free software for music transcription/composition

y'all know about finale notepad? you can use it to transcribe music on your computer. that means you can write out the sheet music to the songs you like to play and put it up online so that other people can learn it.

Yeah, I've tried notepad but prefer Sibelius. I have Sibelius 4 from school, but it's a shame that Sibelius doesn't have a free version, only a demo. Scorch is also made by Sibelius, but I wonder if there's a way to get Notepad files into Scorch.
